Neil Hatton, the CEO of the UK Screen Alliance, is an experienced and well-known figure in post-production in the UK having worked in the sector since 1979. For over 20 years, he worked at MD/CEO or owner level within Soho post production houses like Frontier Post and Azimuth. In 1992, he pioneered non-linear editing and became the first person to cut a long-form documentary on an NLE in the UK. As an editor, he has gained many prime-time credits on all mainstream channels. He was a prime mover in setting up the facilities trade body, UK Screen and was an elected board member for many years before being appointed CEO in 2016. Recently he has forged a partnership between UK Screen and Animation UK to form the UK Screen Alliance, which represents the interests of film & TV studios, post-production, VFX and animation. Neil spends much of his time lobbying the British government and their agencies to improve the business climate for UK Screen Alliance member companies.
