Roy Trosh

Roy Trosh is The Mill’s Group Technical Director, responsible for the engineering and technological operation across its four global studios.

Roy’s career began as an apprentice at Rediffusion Flight Simulation where he helped to develop the first CGI projected visual system, acknowledged with a Queen’s Award to Industry. He studied at Brighton University, graduating with an Honours Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 1983.

He then joined Cal Video Graphics in 1984 where he played a key role in automating repetitive tasks, one of which allowed CG images to be recorded onto video for the first time.

Roy has been with The Mill since its inception in 1990, overseeing the growth of the company. His ability to manage and promote change has helped to keep The Mill ahead of its competition through the transition from video tape to file based workflows and, now, emerging technologies such as VR and AR.
