(“HPA”) respects the privacy of its customers, members, and those visiting its website and has adopted this policy in order to highlight the importance of privacy. This policy, which discloses ways in which HPA gathers and distributes information, may change at any time. Any changes will be posted on this website within this policy.
It is HPA’s general policy to collect only such personal data as our members, registrants and other visitors knowingly provide. HPA does not collect personal information from those merely browsing this website. Most information collected on the website is used to better enable HPA to serve its members and customers. We may also contact you regarding a Web site problem or other customer or member service-related issues.
Those joining HPA as members, or registering for HPA conferences and other activities on this website provide personal information as requested for those actions. The categories of personally identifiable information collected may include names, titles, companies and their addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers, e-mail addresses, areas of industry and business interests, among other information. Individuals are requested to provide similar information when they sign up by offline methods.
HPA does not market to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children on HPA Web sites.

HPA uses the data collected to improve its services to members and for marketing purposes which also relate to the provision of goods and services to members, customers, and registrants. Member and registrant contact information may be made available to other members and registrants. This may include the compilation of such information in hard copy which may be made available to participants and, in limited circumstances, to others.
HPA members and event registrants and attendees will receive electronic and, possibly, printed, communications regarding the HPA Tech Retreat, HPA Awards, networking events, educational events, (HPA News Line and HPA News Flash! for members only), other events, surveys and other information related to the provision of member and customer services. By the action of obtaining an HPA membership, the member authorizes the delivery of these member communications as part of the membership agreement. HPA members also have access to the HPA online member directory.
HPA may provide limited information to third parties with which HPA does business.
We may monitor how our Web sites are used by collecting aggregated (not personally identifiable) data.
Purchases and Fulfillment
When you register for an HPA event, we may request contact information, credit card number, expiration date, billing information and security code. We are in compliance with credit card security policies. This information is used for payment, confirmation and billing purposes and, in the case of contact information, to service the order. Also, when you register for an event, we may request additional information.
HPA uses third-party service providers such as credit card processing companies and online gateways to satisfy customer requests.
When you register for an HPA event, we may provide necessary information to hotels and to facilities hosting events. These parties are allowed to use that personal information only to provide services relevant to the event.
Updating Personal Information
If you are a member of HPA, and your personal information changes, you may update it at any time. To correct or update personal information, you may log into your profile on the HPA website or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
